Adelbert von Deyen był kompozytorem muzyki elektronicznej oraz malarzem nagrywającym w Berlinie. W latach 70. przyjaźnił się z Dieterem Schutze. Owoc tej współpracy można usłyszeć na płycie Inventions (1983). Z jego solowych dzieł najbardziej znana jest piękna płyta Atmosphere (1980) o której już pisałem na tym blogu. Po wydaniu paru albumów, Adelbert skupił się na innej jego pasji - malowaniu. W końcu wraca do komponowania muzyki wydając płytę CD-R Painted Black (2006). Cóż, to już XXI wiek. I inna muzyka. Utwory są krótkie, aranżacje proste i w większości oparte na rytmie. Tylko na chwilę w fragmencie Greek salad autor przypomina sobie stare klimaty ale trwa to krótko i nie wzbudza większych emocji. Niektóre utwory są zaczęte a nieskończone, całość przypomina wypracowanie gimnazjalisty zrobione w pośpiechu i niedbale. Nie znam późniejszych jego nagrań ale płyta Painted Black zdecydowanie nie należy do tych najlepszych. Adelbert von Deyen umiera 13.02.2018 roku.
Adelbert von Deyen was an electronic music composer and recording painter in Berlin. In the 1970s, he was friends with Dieter Schutze. The fruit of this collaboration can be heard on the album Inventions (1983). The most famous of his solo works is the beautiful album Atmosphere (1980) about which I wrote on this blog. After releasing a few albums, Adelbert focused on his other passion - painting. He finally returns to composing music with the release of the CD-R Painted Black (2006). Well, it's already the 21st century. And different music. The pieces are short, the arrangements are simple and mostly rhythm-based. Only for a moment in the fragment of Greek Salad, the author remembers the old atmosphere, but it is short and does not arouse much emotions. Some songs are started and endless, the whole thing resembles a high school student's essay done in a hurry and carelessly. I don't know his later recordings, but the Painted Black album is definitely not one of the best. Adelbert von Deyen dies on February 13, 2018.
