Perge - Catharsis

English version below
Zespół Perge założyło dwóch przyjaciół: Matthew Stringer i Graham Getty.
To sztuka sama w sobie - zagrać często skomplikowane w treści, wyrafinowane suity w taki sposób, aby można było rozpoznać źródło inspiracji. Moim zdaniem, duet Perge lepiej gra, niż obecny skład Tangerine Dream któremu po prostu brak jest świeżości. Nagrania Perge to też krok w stronę starych fanów, ciągle głodnych utworów w starym dobrym stylu. Zaspokajanie takich potrzeb na pewno wykracza poza zwykłą zabawę dźwiękiem.
Omawiana dziś publikacja ma pełny tytuł: Catharsis The Secret Tapes Volume 3 North America 1977.
Zadbano o dobrą jakość techniczną zapisu i szerokie stereo.   Zachowano klimat pełen tajemniczości i mroku.

The Perge band was founded by two friends: Matthew Stringer and Graham Getty. As they write about themselves, "Perge was created with the ambition to recreate the emotions of classic electronic rock, typical of the performances of Tangerine Dream '74 - '86". There have been many followers of this musical phenomenon, but I must admit that Perge's recordings are distinguished by high craftsmanship, creativity and passion.

A dozen or so albums have been released that are a real treat for fans of the genre. Some recordings are even close to plagiarism hi hi, great care has been taken to preserve the colors, atmosphere and construction of the recordings in line with the original. It is an art in itself - to play often complex, sophisticated suites in such a way that you can recognize the source of inspiration. In my opinion, the Perge duo perform better than the current Tangerine Dream line-up which is simply lacking in freshness. Perge's recordings are also a step towards old fans, still hungry for old-style songs. Satisfying such needs certainly goes beyond simply playing with sounds.

The publication under discussion today is fully titled Catharsis The Secret Tapes Volume 3 North America 1977. As you can easily guess, the inspiration was the extraordinary Tangerine Dream - Encore concert. Matthew and Graham took on a big challenge. They did well. The music contained in four songs by Okefenokee Lane, Monoglot, Drywater Ravine, Dessert Cream refers to the original pieces in a respectful way. Sometimes the improvisations just touch the original, and sometimes the music is very faithful to the old recordings. Good technical recording quality and wide stereo were taken care of. An atmosphere full of mystery and darkness has been preserved. However, sometimes their solos are less psychedelic than what the band Tangerine Dream played. OK Every artist leaves a piece of his soul in music. The Perge duo loves old electronic music and continues its traditions beautifully. Listening to them is a great pleasure and ... a journey back in time to the best years of this genre. Check it out on the band's bandcamp: Perge
